Upper Body Conditions and Massage
9am - 5pm
Students will learn about the upper body musculoskeletal/fascial system, the most prominent conditions associated with the upper body muscular/fascial system, and how to assess and work with the body’s system to be able to demonstrate effective techniques to help alleviate pain associated with upper body conditions by increasing ROM and decreasing client’s pain level. Indications and contraindications of working with the upper body musculoskeletal system and the most prominent upper body conditions, such as Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, overuse disorders of the elbow and forearm, and the pathologies of the hands and fingers. Demonstration of the massage techniques to release the muscular/fascial system to enhance client’s ROM and decrease pain level.
