End of Life Doula: Hospice Care and Massage Therapy
Lin Roussel, BA, LMT, LE, EOLD
What better time to receive loving, compassionate touch than at the end of one’s life? This 30-hour comprehensive course prepares the massage therapist to understand death and dying, hospice care, scope of practice, roles and boundaries, and meeting the individual where they are in their dying process. Safety for the client and therapist, contraindications, precautions, demonstration and skills practice are taught. This is an entry-level course. *A live Practicum is offered at a local nursing facility for the in-person class, or if taking class via Zoom, hands-on homework will be given. This class also includes preparation for the NEDA Proficiency Exam and earning the NEDA Proficiency Badge.
Massage Therapists can choose to take this class in-person, via live webinar or a blended class.
Lin specializes in educating licensed massage therapists on how to safely, gently, and compassionately work with individuals who are facing the end of their lives.
