Structural Integration for the Pelvis, Hips, Low Back, and Lower Limbs

Learn to apply structural bodywork theory, foundational concepts, and technique to lengthen tissue and facilitate a client’s positive relationship with gravity. Review the anatomy of the foot, ankle, and crus in relationship to function and development. Identify techniques of viewing and lengthening the foot, ankle and crus.

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:

• Identify how to work with the fascial planes of the body.

• Understand the importance of body awareness, the effects of gravity on the structure, the tensegrity metaphor, and fascia.

• Understand the major working tools of structural bodywork.

• Learn how to incorporate structural bodywork tools into a Swedish-style massage session.

• Identify how to organize a session around a visual assessment (viewing).

• Understand the importance of “fleshing” fascia in the correct direction for optimum results.

• Identify correct tools and techniques for working the foot.

• Identify correct tools and techniques for working the crus.
